SILLY SCRATCH OFFS YOU'LL NEED: One 7x11-inch piece of white paper board or sturdy white drawing paper Crayons Paper towel Newspaper or brown Kraft paper Paintbrush Liquid soap Black tempera paint Pencil or toothpick STEP 1 First, use a yellow crayon to draw a line across the poster board or paper. Draw the line about 3 inches from the top of the board. Use the yellow crayon to color from the top of the paper down to this line. Be sure to press down on the crayon firmly and to completely cover the area. Draw a picture of your backyard, favorite playground, or park below the yellow area. STEP 2 Brush off any crayon flecks with a paper towel. Next, cover the counter with newspaper. Then mix a very small amount of liquid soap with the black paint. The soap helps the paint stick to the waxy crayoned surface. Use a paintbrush to paint over the yellow part of your picture. Be sure to paint over just the yellow part. STEP 3 Let the paint dry thoroughly. Now fill the night sky with little yellow fireflies by using a pencil to scratch through the black paint. If you like, you also can scratch off the shape of a moon and some stars. It's fun to see your drawing come to life as the stars come out. That's how to make a silly scratch off!
